Zero Hour and Other games

Post by simpsons99 »

I started Playing Zero Hour again the last couple of days ... I have noticed something from going to Wolf106 There is a free Ship at 5k.

Then I go to Play on Wolf 161 there is no free ship at 5k . Then I have tried the other 2 Rom Sets for this game .. Both do not have this free ship at 5k

There is no Dip Settings for Free ships or anything .. It's something that has just wrote out of a Game Rom? What has happened here ?

I have noticed this a lot with games on older mame to newer mame Dip settings and free ships are being changed ..

I am sure others have noticed this also

0.111u4: Mike Ellery improved dipswitches in Zero Hour. Added 'Bonus Life' dipswitch. Changed 'Unknown' to 'Unused' dipswitches.

Default is no bonus ship. Check your DIP settings and if it is incorrect, post the bug on MAMETesters.

Not in Wolf 106 it is not .. I have never changed a settings

yeah it should be 5k

check the recordings from wolf 106

There is no settings to change .. I can see where they changed the settings in newer mame .. but it should not be no bonus ship.. Like i said before I have noticed quite a bit of this in other games ..

There is always extra men and ships in games at least 1

Default is no bonus, live with it.

If set to no bonus, and you get a bonus, then it's a bug, post it on MAMETesters. If you get (or don't get) a bonus that matches the DIP settings, then everything is fine.

I thought your post here was very rude to me .. Every day has a free guy some where in it at least once ..

I have noticed with a lot of these new roms free guys and what not have not been started .. Is this the fact of rushing the roms out for the next mame release date .

Why is it every month I do not get it for just a few games

Generally, the defaults should be the factory settings. But this is often unknown without the manual. If the factory/recommended settings are unknown, then the author of the driver will either set them to a "reasonable" setting, or perhaps all switches on or off.

Monthly releases provides a schedule of when to expect it, otherwise releases could be months in-between, and have no consistency. This way, you know when the next release is coming, and developers can prepare their work for release (and not commit core-breaking code the day before a release, hopefully).
