I didn't play much this year, but still won somehow. :o
We need more players at MARP!

I always like the variety of games in WCC. My favorite this year was Reaktor.

Thanks to Phil for hosting WCC7, and to anyone else who helped him.

I think before the end of 2007 it's necessary to discuss about the contests in this site.
If we keep in the same way of year 2000 we'll have bad surprises.
My idea is only ONE big contest during the year, but, I repeat, will be necessary to discuss about.

Well, as participation for WCC7 has been pathetic (2 players for each of 3 last weeks), I gonna make things easier for future.
This was the last WCC, you can consider it dead.

I think that one Tournament and one Knock-Out in the year can be a good idea

Increasing players

Post by RichyS »

Having been participating in the TG Deca, which has also struggled for numbers, it does beg the question why the organisers of these various tournies (who do do a fantastic job) cannot co-ordinate the seemingly decreasing number of players into some sort of larger tournament.

There are surely enough playesr around to have a competition with a larger number of players...

I do totally agree, 1 huge competition per year :

Imagine a 10 games competition on a ten week period :
it can be a TG DECA,
it can be a GOTW,
it can be a MARP Knock out,
it can be a Weekly challenge...
...with some work on the rules, i am sure it can be all that at the same times and everybody will be playing the same tournament.

I already asked some player what they do think about the way MAME competition is working and what should be done for lot's of players to participate

I will try to write some kind of rules after end of DECA that i will propose to both TG and MARP during august.

Well, MARP's oldest tournament is called... well... the MARP tournament. :) But it's a lot like the TG Decathlon, which is older than the MARP tournament.

MARP's most popular tournament in recent years is the MAME Championships, aka the Knockout.

So if we're going to have as few tournaments as possible, which is probably the best idea at this point, we have a MAME Championship, and let TG have their decathlon.

But that's just my 25 cents...
