WCC 5 week 7 : DETATWIN

Post by Phil Lamat »

Only 2 more weeks to go ...
Before last week, we will play a cool shooter : Detana! Twin bee (translation = it's here! Twin bee).
It's the following of 'Twin Bee' (1985).
Note that the game outside Japan is known as 'Bells and whistles' (blswhstl on Marp).
I choose the japanese rom for WCC just because the hiscore is lower on Marp.

Good luck to all

Marp still down.
So post there to get first bonus point.

Note that Valter "TRB" has sent an input to me by mail (as he also can't connect to this forum) : score = 817700.

So you will have to improve this score to catch bonus point from him ; if you don't improve, you can keep your input and post it later when Marp will be back.

Thanks for the info, Mahlemiut. This game have a lot of ways to increase highly the scores... so the potential I think is higher than that MARP records (original + clone).

Thanks for the bonus point, Phil.

Please take note that Gerhard mapped both buttons to one key in his 638k recording. To me, that makes the game slightly easier. Go play the US version if you want to play with one button.

Thanks to point this out, Barry.
Even if it doesn't sound very "arcade-like" to map several buttons to the same key, there is to my knowledge no rules against that on Marp.
Maybe for the future we must vote a rule (Tommi?) but for this WCC round I'm sorry to say I'm forced to allow it ; other players can do the same if they want. I can't zero scores because there is no rule against that for the moment.
But if people doesn't want to take the risk to see their inputs zeroed by the future, and more important if people want to stay fair, I strongly discourage that.

I agree we shouldn't allow mapping several buttons to one key. And neither one button to several keys...You can't do that at arcade.

Well... Tommy is the TOURNAMENT MAN, but Phil is THE MAN concerning this WCC5...

Are being ALLOWED to do it or not at this moment, on this week of the WCC5??? I think is good to do clarification, for sure, at this moment.

Well, at least I think in my current playability on DETATWIN, it would not change many things, because I prefer DO NOT use the 2 shots at the same time in entire the game, but I think is needed to decide this question as soon as possible.

Hmmm... I think 2nd bonus point is mine too.

Actually if they let you open the control panel you can do it.
Just to clarify! :P

Yes, you're allowed for this week (I'm talking only for WCC, I let Tommi decide if these types of inputs are receivable for Marp -- probably a poll to come ?).
As I said, I'm forced to allow regarding the circumstances (hard to change rules during a week tournament) but I'm not happy to do that.

Yes !
With a short advance (918800 against 916050) but you get it.
As usual, Ace13 came slightly too late (3 hours) with his 950k+

By the way, this NORIWO-SHI input would be accepted to WCC5? The player do not comment nothing about the championship...
