What does (Unconfirmed) mean?

Post by Robert DeCrescenzo »

I've submitted a high score for the Olympiad for Ms.Pac-Man a couple of days ago, and above my score it reads (unconfirmed). Do I have to do anthing else to get this confirmed? Does someone look at it to confirm it? When I beat my own score, may I submit another one?

Thanks in advance :)

From "confirms" log:

Tue Nov 6 17:24:31 2001 : Tommi Tiihonen (tjt) confirmed the o1q-
mspacman score of 234000 by PacFan (rpd)

Hi bob, I'm mspacman olympiad judge. Your score is confirmed, you're
qualified for the finals.

That green "unconfirmed" just hangs above every marp recordings page.
It means that if your score is green, then it's unconfirmed. Now that
it's orange it is confirmed.

You could edit your score by clicking "edit" button after your score
into right amount, that is 232350 points, as described in my mspac-
inp description. Also you should edit your user profile, and add your
email address there(click "index", "edit user").

Thank you, and good "luck" for the competition.

Tommi, mspacman olympiad judge

Oh yes, forgot: "When I beat my own score, may I submit another one?"

I advice you not to, since you're qualified anyway. This game has a
set qualification score of 65000.

When another game has percentage qualification only, or it might be
otherwise possible for you not to qualify, submit untill you are
sure...

Real competition begins at:24.11.2001, and ends at 30.11 when talking
about Ms. Pac-Man (mspacman).
Remember to use MAME36Final-version for this game.

+remember(from olympiad, general rules-page):

1c. All players must submit during the duration of the round.
Penalty for submitting before or after the duration of the round is
automatic disqualification of the questioned recording and the player
must submit a new recording. All recording files must have a date
equal the dates of the duration of the round.

1d. All recordings must be submitted immediatly. Any recording that
is not submitted less than 24 hours after the recording was made will
have that recording disqualified

That's enough of rules, now back to playing :),

Tommi:

Thanks for the information. :) I have updated my score correctly,
although now it's in green again. :(

It figures about the re-submittion; I beat my own score just last
night. Oh, well - I'll just keep practicing for the main round.

Thanks again
