Complaint for the Mame TG3

Post by Francois Daniel »

There is a problem with Mame TG3, it not accept any joypad or joystick except the Hot Rod. In France Hot Rod is Sold Out and the only way for participate to the Olympiads with Mame TG3 is Keyboard. How can we qualify by Keyboard at 1943 Kai in Hardest difficulty ? This game work very well in mame 55. Why choose the Mame TG3 ? I set an official complaint for the use of Mame TG 3 for the Olympiads. Games aren't playable with it. I ask that another version of mame will be add for these games. If you are in the same case than me, set a complaint too. If not, the guy who win in these games (1943 kai and the others) will be not the best player. It's not fair !!!

Or if you know a trick who allow to play with paddle or joystick with Mame TG 3, said it.

Complint sustained. MAME 55 is legal for 1943KAI.

Mickey first argued this - and I've already allowed it with that
recording. GB9

I should note that for the other games, that individual game
coordinator has the right to change the version - I can't do anything
about the other games that have MAME 35 TG 3 in it...

But I can change 1943kai - and therefore, MAME 55 will be allowed in
1943KAI only. MAME 35 TG 3 is also allowed. GB9

Francois, do you use wMAME, dMAME or MAME32 for the current
versions? What kinda settings are you trying to enable your Gamepad
to work for Mame 35TG3b? I'm just wondering of these questions
because my game pad works fine (Gravis Gamepad Pro) on MAME 35tg3b,
and maybe you aren't setting something up right. Please respond.

I use a psx pad with dosmame and Arcade@home for the current version.
But I open a new directory with mame32 TG3 and nothing work with this
pad and my sidewinder pad. I'd try many settings and I have other
friends with the same problem.

Just type "m35tg 1943kai -joy 1" !

Hmm. You should try the DOS version of MAME 35TG3B then. After you
put in the "mame -record game" (without the quotes) try putting in
"-joy 4button" for the PSX pad or "-joy 6button" for that
sidewinder. In one of the MAME text files it has all the joypad
listings that you can put in. Here i will list them all (personally
i feel the standard, 4button, and 6button work best, but
experiment). I use the -joy 4button by the way if you wanted to
know. I hope this helps.

-joy n (default: none) allows joystick input, n can be:
0/none - no joystick
1/standard - normal 2 button joystick
2/dual - dual joysticks
3/4button - Stick/Pad with 4 buttons
4/6button - Stick/Pad with 6 buttons
5/8button - Stick/Pad with 8 buttons
6/fspro - CH Flightstick Pro
7/wingex - Wingman Extreme
- Wingman Warrior without spinner
8/sidewinder - Microsoft Sidewinder (up to 4)
9/gamepadpro - Gravis GamePad Pro
sneslpt1 - SNES pad on LPT1 (needs special hardware)
sneslpt2 - SNES pad on LPT2 (needs special hardware)
sneslpt3 - SNES pad on LPT3 (needs special hardware)

So, for all of us who have compatibility problems with their joy/pad
on Mame 35TG3b. I try the stuff above in Dos version and the psx pad
don't work. But, with Mame32 35TG3b it works (I'm sure it doesn't
work yesterday !!!). So use Mame32 :-)

Thanks all for your help

I have a problem calibrating the CH Flightstick. While testing, the
trottle on the gaming options, the throttle on the ch flightstick
won't work and I keep getting "error make sure the controller is
connected" There's no other options to fix this problem, would you
know an other ideas so the next time I won't get this ridiculous
error?

Please respond back.
