Laserdisc games, gotta love em...

Post by Chris Parsley »

Howdy all, yes I do read my email now and again! (once a year lol)
Had Mame deleted on a C: format of drive, but simply had to reinstall so who knows, I might submit something again someday...

<p>

But now to the topic of hand... Is Lasergames emulatable?

<p>

Answer: Yes (Duh!)

<p>

Next Q: Will they be?

<p>

Answer: Very likely NO, at least not for a while...

<p>

Q: Why???

<p>

Answer: The actual arcade programming running a lasergame is easy to emulate, early/mid 80s programming isn't hard to emulate, but the fact of the files that programming called for is currently too high for a game to be able to enjoy on an efficient proceedure. So that's why mamedev hasn't...

<p>

Q: I love Dragon's.... how can I PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<p>

Answer: I was watching the ScreenSavers on TechTV and they had the original creator of Dragon... and boy they had the game perfect... it had to be played like the arcade, and it also had the movie feature to watch the entire laser scenes as a movie for the game... Check http://www.techtv.com/screensavers for info (check archive shows)

<p>

Any others Q's just ask... I am back lol

I couldn't get past all the adds on http://www.techtv.com, is there a direct
url to the show you were talking about? anyways, if you're
interested in laserdisc games, this is a pretty cool site:

Go to <a href="http://www.digitalleisure.com/">Digital Leisure</a>'s.
I bought their Dragon's Lair Deluxe Pack (Dragon's Lair, Space Ace,
Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp) two years ago and I still play these
games nowadays... the quality of the DVD version should be much
better of the CD version I have, though.
