What's the deal with Chequered Flag?

Post by CJ Malloy »

What's the deal with "Chequered Flag". I wondered if something was up when I couldn't pass any cars. I downloaded the second best MARP replay and watched it - that person didn't pass any cars either. Is this something wrong with the emulation or what? Why does the game even offer bonuses for places 1 - 6 when you'll finish a race no better than what you started it??? Why does it even bother to show you what placed you're in?

The game have a protection that makes impossible to surpass the other
cars.A day will be fixed also this one(but considering the slow
process that require to "crack" a protection, think only that Popeye
original version NOW is cracked, after about 4 years...)

Well, the problem is not always that the protection is hard
to "crack". There has to be someone that are insterested in doing
it :=)

Old non working clones that has copy protection (just an example) may
take longer time, cause there may be more people that are interesten
in getting a game like 1945 to work instead.. (just an example again).

But I´m not an expert at this. Let´s hear what the pros has to say
about this.

The protection in Chequered Flag(just to remember,a Konami game)it's
the same of Over Drive and others too,aka the KO53250.
Yes,"crack" a protection depends a lot of the efforts made in
it.Mainly because it's a great break-ball that needs a lot of
time...
PS:I'm not an expert,I'm just telling my little knowledge for the
others...
