The games of the first phase of the tournament have been extracted, and you can now start to play.

Round 1: Space Position (Japan) [spcpostn] - Driving game, 1986, voted by Fordy
Round 1 thread
Round 2: Tutankham [tutankhm] - Maze game, 1982, voted by xelnia
Round 2 thread
Round 3: Super Punch-Out!! [spnchout] - Sports game, 1984, voted by Agodzilla
Round 3 thread
Round 4: Battle Circuit (Euro 970319) [batcir] - Fighter 2.5D game, 1997, voted by mahlemiut
Round 4 thread

Please note that, for this phase of the tournament, it is not relevant who voted and in which years the games were produced, I'm reporting for the fun of showing info/stats.

Please submit scores in the associated game thread, or in MARP by including the text string "T13" in the comment box; do not use this thread.
TIME REMAINING for submitting scores to this phase:

Every day, I will update the global ranking on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=15276
Single rounds rankings can be consulted (updated once every 7 days) on the relative threads, but also on the global ranking thread.

The games of the second phase are, of course, already determined, but they will be revealed only with the beginning of the second phase itself.
Have fun! :D

And just for the sake of giving proof, the recording of the extraction process.
On this marvellous video. Sorry for the quality and other uninteresting details. Did I say I never made a video before?

By the way, I don't want to give the impression that, for every sort of random extraction needed in a tournament, one has to record it - this is a choice for me, because I like to give proof of my objectivity.

The quality is really poor, but still I guess one can understand what happens.
If one prefers, can ask me the original video file, via PM, it's only 6.14 MB

giro-X,

Even if I don't participate [free time is random and backlogs almost eternal], I appreciate the hard work you and all others involved have done for this.

Don't matter who owns or has played on what machine offline, it's just nice to have some good competition for all.

Thank You! =D> =D> =D>

I'm definitely excited that Tutankham got picked! It's a hard game I've just started playing and I think it's great everyone will get a chance to play it. I've had fun so far in my brief playthroughs of the other games. Good luck to everyone!

I like your sense of imagination ;)
I have literally seen this scene for the first time and OMG not again before sleeping. I'm quite impressionable...

Of the four, probably the game I'll watch from you players with most pleasure.
Nice choices overall, anyhow.

End of Day 2
Temporary ranking
Remember that every 7 days you can gain a small amount of points with the scores already sent.
In the column TP Day 7, you can see what would be your total of tournament points if these could be the definitive rankings for first checkpoint, which is at the end of Day 7.

Code: Select all

Legend
TP = tournament points
Status: OK = confirmed; NC = not confirmed "yet"; XX = bad INP (doesn't follow rules); *other* = additional notes
