Re: 1943 cheat or not?

In general, codes you can use on the arcade are okay for MARP, so long as they don't make the game stupidly easy (ie: invincibility or lots of lives, etc...)

Re: Exzisus (Japan, conversion) [exzisusa]

Who said he was cheating (in this INP)? This is the playbackability forum. Most of saulonpb's INPs are boring to watch. I'm not looking for an insomnia cure yet. Also, I'm not a ROM collector, no way do I have nor do I care to have every single ROM in existence (even if I do have access to them).

Exzisus (Japan, conversion) [exzisusa]

http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/0/8/b/snp ... olf183.zip

Doesn't playback for me, loses sync around 180k.

Re: Request: WolfMAME Linux Binaries

On Arch Linux, you can use: sudo pacman -S git base-devel sdl2 sdl2_ttf qt5-base fontconfig python If you don't have sudo installed, then you can switch to root, and then do the above, minus the call to sudo. Remember that Python is required for the build process, although any moderately recent 2.x ...

Re: Wolfmame on Android and/or Raspberry

MAME does target Android, but it is not all that useful, in that it lacks any sort of touch screen support. I think MAME is buildable on a Pi, although the performance is not likely to be all that great. I'd expect it to take a while to build also, unless you do a cross-build on a PC. You are largel...

Re: Old WolfMAME versions

It's been a long, long time since I last used UPX (many years). I stopped using it because it started to generate unusable EXE/DLLs. If you have UPX handy, then it should be able decompress files as well with the -d switch.

UPX is still developed - https://upx.github.io/

Re: Up to which Wolfmame versions are still 32-bit

0.184 was the first released 64-bit binary. You can still build 32-bit versions from the source, if need be.

But if an inp won't even start?
Should still show it. So long as you're not running it from a double-clicked icon or the Run option, where the console disappears on exit.

Run MAME from the command prompt, playing back an INP will tell you exactly what version was used.
Hopefully don't need a giant red arrow to show what to look at... (and yes, I know it's not Windows, but the same idea applies)

Re: Benchmarks

Grabbed a 64-bit SDL WolfMAME 0.127, and oddly enough, I still get 580% on pacman. Modern OSes use up this much more CPU time? Seems weird.

EDIT: Ok, adding -nomaximize makes it run much faster. Intel must have crappy texture stretching or something.

Re: Benchmarks

Will pull 0.126 from the old box eventually, and hope that it'll run (it should). Might give a better idea as to how much speed is lost simply through MAME shifting from C to C++14 and various emulation improvements over the past 9 years.
