Ranks

On this forum software, I can set up various Ranks, which will be used according to how many posts a user has made - much like the "Site Admin" rank I have (over on the left side under my username). My problem is that I can't think of anything appropriate to use. Please reply to this topic...

Commands for the seen module (this is slightly different from what phuquenut was running, but it works pretty much the same way): Public commands: ---------------- %seen <nick> I think this command doesn't need an explanation. ^_^ %seen <mask> Searches the database for entries that match <mask> for ...

Bot commands

Commands for the stats module on LazyBitch (on Lazynet). Some may not be applicable to everybody, but the public commands will be useful at least. Public commands: ---------------- !top10 [ordering] lists the top10 users in the channel !top20 [ordering] same as !top10, but lists the top20 (surprise!...

Bot move

Well, since the poll for moving to Lazynet expires tomorrow, I'm going to start setting up a new bot for that network, which will have all of the scripts that are used in #marp currently. Then I'll be turning off the scripts on the EFnet bots. Then I won't be talking on EFnet, other than to remind p...

Next tournament?

When is the next tournament planned anyway? I forget if it's been mentioned or not recently - I haven't really been keeping up with much.

Re: Hi

:D Nice board guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks :) This style of message board is a LOT easier to maintain and use. Plus, if there are any features someone would like added, it might be possible (like the "watch forum" link I added). Suggestions for more actual Forums would be good too, in case G...

Re: legacy message moving

just a note remember to try and the the dates from the old messages when you make the script to import them, there just as important as the messages themselves. This new board is pretty cool. Yeah, I'll definitely be doing that. There isn't a time associated with an entry, though, so I'll have to j...

Oops

I apologize for the short system downtime last night - the box this website is hosted on went down for a memory upgrade (from 512MB to 1GB). I would have let everyone know, but I wasn't given any advance warning. Sorry :)

You don't want to know what I think of DDR.

Well, actually, you probably already do :)

Finally!

After much code hacking and testing by the people of #marp , there is now an option on the bottom of each forum page to watch that forum - it will send an email to you when a new topic is posted (but won't send any more until you actually visit the page - good for reducing the amount of email sent o...

Forum feature

This isn't linked from anywhere yet, but you can view the statistics for this whole forum. Kinda neat. :)

I'm also working on adding something so you can be notified of a new post via email - like the MARP forums on greenspun right now. It shouldn't be too hard...

Server move

Well, so far the poll/vote for the server move to Lazynet is 9-0, so it looks like everyone agrees with it. :) Once the poll expires (March 7th), I will be shutting off the scripts running on phuquenut and LazyBitch, and setting up a bot in #marp on Lazynet that does the same thing. It would also be...

Previous #marp move attempts

Heh, I got bored and looked at the MARP boards to see how often a move from EFnet has been brought up in the past: Apr 16, 2000 Feb 28, 2001 Apr 5, 2001 Feb 14, 2002 Quite amusing... :) Well, as soon as the poll/vote for switching servers ends on March 7th, I'll be turning off the scripts on EFnet #...

They all suck. BitchX is good for a console client, and I suppose xchat is not bad for X - too bad it's not a KDE app, the GTK+ toolkit is horribly ugly.

One of the main reasons I use Windows mostly is for mIRC/oWiRC :)
