It is the same as many games, where staying as long as possible gives more points. My inp shows no real leeching, because I stay in a location for one life, then die as time runs out, and make sure not to die in that location again. But I agree with any rules that will speed the game up. If the game...

Ah, I thought this thread was about tweaking the wording on gameboy's webpage so there would be fewer misunderstandings. I thought that #7 could be improved, was all. Did you guy's see the gng problem at the TG Deca forum? They said "5-men rule, leeching acceptable" without realizing that ...

7. You may submit an INP at anytime, regardless of when you originally recorded it
Sorry, must have misread that one...

I suggest "7. Recordings must be made during the time-trial period and are encouraged to be submitted as soon as possible by the following: " or something like that.

Hopefully most of the games which get chosen are games where players usually spend much more time completing the game than they normally have to (maximizing points).

I would suggest games like gng or rygar or xsleena, but these are the same category as contra, I realize.

question

:?: What about previously recorded inp's? If someone chooses Speed Rumbler, can I submit my year-old 6+ stage accomplishment, which no one has any chance of ever defeating? \:D/ :?: Also, will the special rules of regular marp still be followed for each game, if there are any? I would bet they need ...

CONTRA in 7:08

Was there gonna be time-penalties for using continues or deaths?

Timed at 7:08 from insert coin to last boss blown up. Then I let the credits roll.

CONTRA you mo fos

I like the time trial idea just because it gives a good reason to re-visit those games that you have stopped playing because of score maximization and lack of time. ](*,)

Less than 7 minutes will win Contra  (add a minute for the credits to roll). Its perfect for testing.

CONTRA mo fos

Another vote for Contra! 1. 0-1 hour 2. No penalty for continuing... the time trial will be close for the best players, and a penalty would discourage other players trying it. Game automatically limits continues to 4 credits. 3. Game to completion, because it is short enough already. 4. Not infinite...

No timer problem, then.

Ah. Well then. A game would take about 250 tics, and there would be a total of 11 games to finish. So that would be about 2750 tics used out of a possible 3900. Looks to be around a 3 hour gaming session.

While you're at it, you might want to talk about changing the timer from 3900 units to Free Play. My 63-0 game in which New York decimated a pitiful Dallas team took about 1000 units, so perhaps four games could be played before game over. If there were no timer constraint, a total of 15 games could...
