Re: How to download First Mame Olympics recorded games

The most likely version used for tournaments of that era was m35tg3.

ie: The 'TG' version of Mame which pre-dated WolfMame.

Unfortunately it still doesn't find the file when a URL is constructed using that version of Mame in the filename. :(

Such a sad few days here in Christchurch...

Work has had a very strange atmosphere all day today. It may be 3 days since the shocking event, but everyone seems to know someone who lost a family member, parent, child, close friend, previous work colleague, etc. :( :( :(

Re: Yolympics 2019

That might have put the brakes on my gaming. In the middle of an ok-ish game of Galaga and my control panel slipped partly off the desk, and when I pulled it back fully onto the desk I think it pulled a on the cable and then it stopped working. :-( Pulling the control panel apart now, but I think I ...

Re: Yolympics 2019

... hmm, seems like the CAG site is broken when using FireFox. I just tried with Chrome instead, and look at that there's a 'Submit Score' button on the lower left when viewing the details for a game.... kind of what I was expecting to see. Oh well, I'll be able to upload my crud when I get back hom...

Re: Yolympics 2019

Ok... call me stupid but I don't seem to have any 'submit score' type buttons or links when on the CAG site for the tournament...

How do I go about submitting some of the pathetic scores I've managed thus far on the games?

Re: Old ranking system

we can work only with the original games. The best is: We don´t have to full the site with a lot of inps. The difficulty with this idea is what happens when the 'original' version of a given game changes with new releases of Mame. Also, sometimes the 'original' versions had bugs which were fixed in...

Re: saulonpb - dkong - 3,200

also not actually knowing for sure what build was used? still strikes me as these being scores from more than one person. Also, when you look at the other pattern, where all the shitty 'S' and 'T' games were wolf103 whereas the load of shitty 'B' games recently uploaded were Wolf177, this also smac...

Looks like this game possibly needs to be archived given the 2 x clones of the game are already archived.

Re: saulonpb - dkong - 3,200

I'd have thought what he's doing now is a clear violation of rule 1e): e) Submit only games that you feel are worthy of the notice of other MARPers, owing either to personal effort, or display of skill All that flood of '1st try' recordings clearly doesn't meet that rule. I'm not sure what the point...

Re: TK2012 / PP

So, I'm guessing nothing is going to be done about these two rule breakers, so farewell Marp... it was good while you lasted but if blatant cheating like this and total disregard for the Marp community and it's rules isn't going to result in the cancellation of the accounts involved then there's not...

Re: TK2012 / PP

Oh look. Another swag of TK uploads that look surprisingly like the games that PP "deleted" a week ago. Do they really think leaving it week before putting up the same scores is not going to be as obvious?!? Hey Editors When are these guys going to have their accounts deleted so we can get rid of th...

Hopefully he's just wasting his time and soon the editors will make the decision to ban both accounts and delete all the scores.

Re: Recording AVIs

Cicca, You could try using Handbrake to transcode the .mng into a .avi afterwards. I've used Handbrake for lots of transcoding of things like videos we recorded of the kids when they were younger, but I can't definitively say if it will work for .mng format files though as I've never worked with the...
