could be the sound frequency, what frequency can you get it to playback with 11k 22k 44k? I can't recall the frequency. It is possible that I recorded with sound at 44K rather than 22K. I would not have used 11K. Both recording playback on my machine at 22K option. I notice that I have Seal sound s...

I can't do much to help but here's some additional details: 1. Both recorded in the standard release MAME32 0.35 http://www.classicgaming.com/mame32qa/ 2. Frameskip 0 was used - see txt files within the zip files. 3. All other settings were default I believe. 4. They were recording under Win98 and t...

I thought that confirming was strictly for playing back verification, at least that was what I was told, when I became a confirmer. But I never confirms scores where the player cheats or is doing illigal leeching, but that is my choice. That is correct, confirmers only verify accuracy of the score ...

I've just seen the inp in question. Interesting leech technique, quite suitable for the 'unusual recordings' section on MARP but definitely not suitable for leaderboard points. Unlimited leeching at low risk with no game advancement. That's the formula for a banned technique I believe. Put it down a...

This has got to be 'no-brainer' for the MARP community, the answer is yes, when, I want it yesterday. The problem of course is that MARPer's views are not shared by the MAMEDEV's whose focus is preservation, being able to play games is a bonus but not what the MAME project is all about. The only rea...

Tim:The rule to set the game on harder settings worked. Right then we got rid of the leeching on the stage1 boss and made the game a little harder. The problem here is that people just trying to find new ways to leech in that game.QRS No, the rule didn't work. Check the last inp again. The guy leec...

Introducing the "if you leech then you must finish game" rule would be a good compromise but it complicates scoring and confirming though. In the case of Toki it won't make much difference because the game is easy but it might make a few submitters work harder to "earn their score&quo...

Re: RE

f) Point or life leeching is strongly discouraged, and banned on some games, as described in the banned techniques list. A meaningless rule since leeching in not clearly defined and never can be because it is a subjective concept and everyones view is slightly different. So is boredom, what bores o...

Even with a timer like in this case, the shooting of 'flower seeds' on stage 5 is extremly boring to watch. No matter if you do a F10/fs11 it takes a lot of time. We are considering it seperately, the poll will decide. Boredom alone should not be sufficient to ban inp's, it is a subjective measure....

I must say the 'non leech' philosophy is going too far here. You play the game, you do your best to get a good score. You use all your available time if you can to get points - it seems natural. I for one was impressed with the leeching performed in stage 5. Yes, I would get tired of watching it rep...

What have you got against your own inp's Phil. Download them immediately. This sort of discrimination will not be tolerated on MARP ;-)

Could be a fluke. I've now found I can download some of his inp's but I'm still noticing that if a download fails, it's one on Phil's submission.

Why Can't I Download Phil Lamat's Inp's

Over the past week I've been unable to download any of his submissions. Anyone experiencing this and/or know the cause?

Cheers,
Tim

Yep, it's down a second time. This time it's been unavailable for at least 10 hours. I don't know why it happens. Somehow people are still able to upload - maybe not from everywhere. I hope they resolve it soon.

Unable To Download Inp's

What's up - general maintenance or something? I can load the site pages but download none of the incoming high score inps.
